This piece began as an exploration of opposites.
The inspiration behind ‘Fire & Ice’ came from observing how extremes coexist in everyday life: light beside shadow, warmth beside coolness, intensity softened by pause.

Breaking the painting into four panels felt essential. As a quadriptych, the work allows colour and form to travel - sometimes aligning, sometimes interrupting one another. Each panel holds its own atmosphere, yet none of them stand alone. The composition only resolves when all four are present, echoing the way experiences often make sense only in retrospect.
Hot reds, oranges, and yellows surge across the surface, then recede into cooler blues, greens, and violets.
