'Something Fishy #01’ is a contemporary abstract, giclée print, based on one of my originals.
As it uses the drip technique to add paint to canvas (à la Mr. Pollock) and a pollock being a fish, the title instantly popped into my head. I thought the title fitted the piece!
The canvas features a muted greeny-blue background with splatters, drips, and streaks of orange-red, white, dark green and black. The paint application follows an action or drip painting technique, with spontaneous, unrestrained movement. The interconnected lines form a dense, complex network across the composition, and the contrasting colours stand out against the background.
