'Moon Shiver' is a contemporary abstract art, giclée canvas print and is based on one of my originals (see original HERE)
I've always been interested in astronomy, especially the moon. Having never painted this celestial body, I decided to remedy that, but in an abstract way.
The original (on which this print is based) was created by first painting the moon on a black background and then using the drip technique and careful masking to apply alternate drips and spatters of white over the whole canvas (apart from the moon) and then black on the moon only.
The varied thickness and direction of these marks add depth, while irregular light spots and splatters enhance the piece’s textured, dynamic feel.
