'Striata' is a contemporary abstract art, giclée canvas print and is based on one of my originals (see original HERE)
This print takes it's name from the motif in the centre of the artwork. On the original, this effect was created by dripping paint on either side of an elevated section of canvas (cardboard tube placed underneath) to form straight(ish) lines, hence the title of the piece.
The print comprises both rectangular and irregular shaped blocks painted in black, white, grey, and brown tones, with the centre dominated by the above 'Striata' feature. A burnt sienna coloured block adds contrast and interest, with some areas giving the appearance of heavy texture. A circular white motif is positioned at the top right of the print. The overall effect is a layered, structured design that explores contrast and form.
