'Proteus’ is a contemporary abstract, giclée print, based on one of my originals.
My inspiration for the original artwork stems from my take on futuristic urban skylines. The artwork is predominantly whites, blacks, greys and rich earthy colours painted in geometric shapes and patterns.
Dominated by stacked and overlapping rectangles and parallelograms, it uses shades of terracotta, beige, dark grey, and black. Textures range from smooth to rough, with some areas displaying striated patterns. While the overlapping planes and tonal variations suggest depth, the work remains flat, emphasizing abstract relationships between colour shapes rather than a three-dimensional perspective.
