Some titles arrive through instinct more than planning, and this one came from a mix of wordplay and colour. A play on “serenade,” tied to the yellows that slowly began taking over the canvas.

Once that connection settled in, the painting seemed to lean into it naturally.

Bright yellows push forward with warmth and energy, while deeper blues and blacks pull things back, giving the composition space to breathe. The movement across the surface feels loose and rhythmic rather than overly controlled, allowing the piece to find its own balance between brightness and depth.

There’s energy here, but also calm. Lighter passages lift the painting, while darker areas slow things down just enough to keep it grounded.
