Some paintings begin with a clear idea. This one didn’t.
It started as an experiment with circles, squares and loose geometric forms, simply allowing the painting to develop without trying to control where it was going. Each mark led naturally to the next, building layer upon layer through instinct rather than planning.
For most of the process, it remained purely abstract. Then once finished, something unexpected began to emerge - a wheelbarrow-like shape hidden within the composition. Not obvious at first, but once seen, difficult to ignore.
That moment is what eventually gave the piece its title.
Reds bring warmth and energy to the surface, while softer greys and whites create balance and structure around the movement. Geometric shapes provide a framework, but the looser marks breaking across them stop the piece from feeling rigid or overly controlled.
From a distance, it feels bold and graphic. Up close, the layers and smaller details begin to reveal themselves more slowly over time.
On the wall, it brings presence, movement and a quiet sense of playfulness into a space without overpowering it.
